One minutes encouragement speech...

“Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.”
(
Romans 14:19).

My mind reached to the word “Edification” when our Deacon U Tin Shwe invited soloist at our Sunday worship. He gave one minutes precious encouragement speech for us. (Please listen audio).

“Edification” means building up each others as community of the Kingdom of God. It is supporting each others morally and spiritually. In human nature, it is easy to criticize and judge other people’s faults and mistakes. It is sinful nature and need to be left far behind us in order to improve new life in Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:5 says, “Have this mind in you which is in Jesus Christ.” Love God, love one another, support one another, build up one another, and serve one another are the will of our Lord for us to be followed.

People come to church to hear the word of God, to receive the touch of God, to hear word of comfort and encouragement from God. We are His mouths, His hands, and His feet. We must have spirit-filled words of comfort and encouragements to those who come and seek God. Words of criticism, gossips, and judgmental are enemies of edification. Edification is our responsibility as the disciple of Jesus Christ. Let's have the mind of Jesus and build one another up. Thanks Deacon U Tin Shwe for one minutes word of encouragement.

A Call to Examine Ourselves

"Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the LORD; Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven." (Lamentations 3:40-41)

We all need to reexamine ourselves frequently whether we are away from God's directions or on the right track. We must use biblical teaching as the standard for the examination of our lives. We need to turn back to God if our ways are self-centered way rather than God's directions. Its never too late to turn back to the true WAY, Jesus Christ. He is always open His arm wide and welcoming us. (Matthew 11:28). Continue and renew your commitment if you find you are on the right track with our Lord's footsteps. Do not loose your hearts for the harvest time will come soon. "Let us not loose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." (Galatians 6:9).

One of the things that makes us to be a better living is "inventory of ourselves." Evaluation of our works, ministries, and achievements make us to be a successful person. When we look back and evaluate, we will see our successes or failures, our strength or weaknesses, and those results will give us valuable lessons for the future of our lives. We are in the end of 2009 and its good time for self-evaluation time to renew our commitment in order to finish well of the remaining important months of the year.

In Our Daily Bread, January 9, 1994: "State employment officials in Tucson, Arizona, posted an interesting sign over a full-length mirror. Directed to all job hunters, it read, “Would you hire this person?” In another office a mirror and sign posed this question: “Are you ready for a job?” Self-evaluation was what the apostle Paul called for in 1 Corinthians 11. Believers in Christ need to judge themselves, he said, to avoid being judged by the Lord as unfit for His service. In the Corinthian church, the “appearance problem” was especially serious. Those Christians “looked” awful. They were actually getting drunk and quarreling among themselves while going through the motions of celebrating the Lord’s Supper. So Paul said, in effect, “Look at yourselves. What a mess! If you don’t get your lives straightened out, the Lord will have to do it for you.” Then the apostle added the sobering fact that God had already begun to cleanse the church by sending some of them to an early grave. This is a hard truth, but one the church still needs to hear today."

(Click on the poster for larger view)

Our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS2009) is around the corner! It will be on July 30 to August 2, 2009. Children at our church are so exciting to celebrate another fun and joyous VBS this year again. They were taught the word of God by dedicated teachers, they were fed with varieties of their favorite food, they were surrounded with loving parents and volunteers, and they were filled with the love of God throughout previous VBSs.

There will be indoor and outdoor activities during these four days closing with swimming pool party. Please contact Sunday School teachers for early registration or scholarship program. See list of contact persons on the poster.

"This is not only the children's ministry, but it is also an entire church ministry", says Ma Shirley Choo, our Sunday School director. We encourage everyone to participate in this once-a-year special event for the teaching and caring ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Click the image for larger and clear view)

The wait is almost over! Our annual outdoor picnic will be on July 18, 2009 at Heather Farm Community Park at Walnut Creek. We will start at 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

If you have been with us at Heather Farm Picnic Park a few years ago, we do not need to explain you how beautiful and wonderful place it is. Especially a swimming pool everyone wants to jump in and having fun. There are games for kids, youth, adults and everyone.

As Church family, we will BBQ together, and eat, share, and fun together. We will also have outdoor worship with singing praises under God creation. Bring games or toys to share with others. Last year, Juniors brought their bibles and had bible sharing under the shade. How nice!

Most importantly, bring entire family and friends. Look at the poster for last year picnic activities at Warmsprings, Fremont. Contact Ko Kyaw Htin, Ko Dicky Choo, Cornelia Paw, Ma Rebecca Hla Oung for directions, food, or detail.

Hope to see you all!

An Evening with full of Praises

How can we sing a joyful praises amidst this time of economic depression? Psalmist also recorded that "How can we sing the Lord's song in the strange land?" (Psalm 137:4). But we have answer for these questions. One of a praise songs our praise team have sung over and over again was, "How can I keep from singing your praise... how can I ever say enough... how amazing is your love... how can I keep from shouting your name..."

Singing praises comes from our hearts, not depends on the circumstances around us. Come and sing, shout, dance, and praise with our two special praise teams and musicians this Saturday, June 13, 2009, 6:00-7:30 pm at our Church.
